Travel Florida: Daytona Beach is the Place for Family Fun!

Published by katieanne at 1:18 pm under Family, Florida, USA Edit This

Daytona Beach in Florida is the place in the US to visit if you’ve got a need for speed, or a love of roaring engines.  The Daytona 500, NASCAR’s famous annual event is one of the must-sees on any racing car enthusiast’s ambition list, and it’s held right there in the Daytona International Speedway.  There’s more to Daytona than the speedway however.

How about spending some time at the ocean?  Have you ever wanted to try surfing, or maybe deep sea fishing?  Daytona offers a great selection of activities that can make these dreams come true.  How about slowing the pace and watching the sunrise from a hot air balloon, or take a cruise to watch manatees and dolphins at play?  Hide from the Florida sunshine (and humidity) by visiting the Planetarium at the Museum of Arts and Science or the Living Legends of Motor Racing Museum.  Family fun for all ages can be had at go-karting or miniature golf centers.  There’s even a chance to go ghost hunting on the beach for those who dare!

OK so despite all of the fun stuff you can do, you really want to spend time at the Daytona International Speedway.  Well there are many activities you can take part in, it’s not just about watching someone else drive!  What with the IMAX experience, the speedway tram tour that takes you around those famous banked turns, and even stock car motion simulators, you’ll find any thirst for speed is quenched!

Florida’s Daytona Beach is a great base for a family vacation.  With so many activities to offer, and its close proximity to places such as Orlando and the Kennedy Space Center, it’s a perfect vacation destination choice.
