Winter Travel: A Snow Fun Vacation in Vail, Colorado

Published by katieanne at 12:46 pm under Budget, USA Edit This

Imagine yourself ski-ing like a pro on some of the most beautiful mountain snow you could ever dream of whilst the sunshine beams down.  Alternatively consider the memories you would have of a night when you took part in a glow-stick ski-down.  How about learning first hand about dog sled racing?  Or even enjoying a romantic gondola ride up into the mountains with someone you love?  If any of this is appealing, the Vail is the perfect place for your winter vacation.

With snowboarding, ski-school and ice skating to increase value of snow/ice based activities, there are also some off-piste activities such as the December winter market in the Minturn resort, and live music events such as the Street Beat Concert Series in Vail Village, or Beaver Creek’s Plaza Entertainment.  Vail has something for families, couples and even those snow enthusiasts who like to go it alone because they can focus all their attention on their ski-ing/snowboarding activities.

Vail isn’t cheap by any stretch of the imagination.  It’s a world class ski-ing resort and as such it has prices that won’t fit every budget but if check out some of the Vail tourism websites and you might pick up a bargain that includes free ski-passes or even a night’s free accommodation if you are staying several nights in one location.

Although I don’t ski I would love to check it out someday just for the scenery and photo opps. I love the snow and here in California we don’t see it unless we venture out to Tahoe.
